Grōn Mo̠w Ner (/groːn/ /mo̠w/ [rigorous] [hate]) is a subtropical Town located in the I̽lökri̽ Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Grōn Mo̠w Ner is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Grōn Mo̠w Ner was founded by Veszo Drilriash, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Grōn Mo̠w Ner has a yearly average temperature of 19°C (66°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 28°C (82°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 11°C (51°F). Overview

Grōn Mo̠w Ner was founded durring the late 13th century in winter of the year 1180, by Veszo Drilriash. The establishment of Grōn Mo̠w Ner was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Veszo Drilriash struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Grōn Mo̠w Ner as a prison colony.

Grōn Mo̠w Ner was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Grōn Mo̠w Ner is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Grōn Mo̠w Ner is buildings have been located at convienant points along the cliff Grōn Mo̠w Ner was built upon. Navigating the town is therefore a little chalanging as the distance between buildings verris greatly and the restrictive paverstone streets flow where they are able to be made rather than folowing the most convienant paths. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Grōn Mo̠w Ner's size could have. Astonishigly, the well-designed, yet cheep are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

Right off the bat Grōn Mo̠w Ner hits you in the face with its success. Everyone, even the peasants, are dressed in well made clothing. Every tool and implement you can see is finely made, and people will boast to you as obvious strangers of the wonders which can be found in their markets. More interestingly is a total lack of beggars, and plenty of new buildings are going up even as you speak. Somehow this town has come into quite a lot of wealth, and recently from the looks of things. Precisely how it has gained its wealth is a mystery. Grōn Mo̠w Ner is, in a word, disorder. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes. Yet there are small elements here and there which show the underlying structure of the community. It’s just so complex, organic, and flowing one can only understand what is a piece of the puzzle, but not what its neighbors are.

Grōn Mo̠w Ner has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Grōn Mo̠w Ner.

Grōn Mo̠w Ner has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Grōn Mo̠w Ner has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Grōn Mo̠w Ner's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Grōn Mo̠w Ner possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Grōn Mo̠w Ner has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Grōn Mo̠w Ner has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Grōn Mo̠w Ner's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known primarily for its use of abstraction and simplicity. Clean lines, right angles, and primary colors characterized this aesthetic and art movement expressed via architecture and paintings. Its design ethos allows only primary colors and non-colors, only squares and rectangles, only straight and horizontal or vertical lines. Vertical and horizontal lines are positioned in layers or planes that do not intersect, thereby allowing each element to exist independently and unobstructed by other elements. These seemingly impossible principals for an architectural style coalesces into structures which most experts find hard to put into words. It is not that their geometry is impossible, but rather the style's attempt at producing works only describable visually was most successful..

In Grōn Mo̠w Ner the utterance of expletives is impossible within city limits. This has changed as the limits have changed, but has not kept up with slang, or swearing in foreign languages.

The quake brought ruin to Grōn Mo̠w Ner, which lost 262 people, 225 livestock, and 21 buildings in the earthquake. The day of the quake is remembered by many as Cursed Fates's Day.
